My rats don't go in their hammocks.?

Since my last question exactly like this was obviously too stupid for you guys. I'm going to ask again and hopefully I get nicer people. Thank you. Your time is much appreciated unless you post an immature answer.

My girls aren't really into lounging that much. They're always on a mission to do something. They work on decorating their 'house' more than anything, with old socks, fabric strips, anything I give them. They've had a hammock (shredded it and used it for fluff in their bed) and they've had a birdhouse. The birdhouse was meant for finches or something small like that, and I hung it in the cage, put treats in it and now its... about a quarter of its size and destroyed. Its a weird thing, certain rats like them, certain rats dont. Just remember they all have different personalities.
Try moving the hammock to a different location in the cage, or washing it. Did you wash it before giving it to them? It could have a funny smell to it, or so they think.
Tube type hammocks allow for hiding, like the leg of a jean, so maybe they're just more private sleepers, and don't want to sleep out in the open.

Try the moving it, and the washing. You could also start putting treats up there every so often so they have to go up there.
