Can someone word this description better?

I'm trying to describe a really cute little house in the story I'm writing. I wrote:
It’s about seventy-five percent painted pale blue, and the rest is made of faded bricks. The ivy-covered chimney faces outward, towards the road. An adorable little porch is off to the left side, sheltered by the gray-shingled roof. The large front window emerges two feet away from the house with a small roof of its own that reminds me of a birdhouse.

Houses are usually built facing towards the east to face the rising sun,Right?

The porch should be facing the east I think.

And there it was(just setting the scene) a charming old fashioned single floored house with a porch that greeted the sun every morning.

Its large garage door greeting me(or us)was blue,matched the porch and the bare wood of the exposed roof parti(wooden part of the roof).

A single four pane tinted window was visibleThe walls skirting the house were made of a medley of red,brown and orange smokey coloured bricks.

The chimney was made up of these as well and sitting in the centre of the house along the spine of the grey-slate roof.
