Humming Bird
How can I help this humming bird?
There's a humming bird in my backyard and it's lying on the ground rather than flying, but it still moves a little now and again so it's definitely alive. I put some sugar water by it and it drank a little bit of it, and now it's just lying there by the sugar water. It would be great if it would recover but I know that it will probably die--is there anything else I can do to help it get better or at least give it a more peaceful death?
Giving it the sugar water was a good move in case it is just stunned and needed some recovery time to be able to fly away. If it continues to lay there, you should try and get it to a local wildlife rehab..look for one here:

Also, there is NO disease you can catch from touching it like the other answer suggested...and killing wild native birds is illegal.
